Advan Racing

Yokohama's high-performance racing division

Est. 1978Japan

History & Overview

Advan Racing is the high-performance wheel division of Yokohama Rubber Company, which was founded in 1917. Yokohama began manufacturing wheels in 1974 through subsidiary Almex, and the ADVAN brand launched in 1978 with Japan's first sports radial tire.

The brand's motorsport DNA runs deep. Advan became the official WTCC tire supplier for 12 consecutive years (2006-2018) and is the official tire of Japanese Super Formula Championship since 2016. The longest-running Advan motorsport partnership is with Team Taisan, which has won 8 team championships and 4 drivers championships in Super GT.

Advan Racing wheels are manufactured by Yokohama Wheel Design using mold form forging with A6061-T6 aerospace-grade aluminum. The R6 line uses advanced alloy construction optimized for maximum stiffness, and their wheels feature side-cut machining and barrel rim designs specifically engineered for large brake clearance.
